Can’t Withdraw From Forex: Reasons and What to Do (2026)

Why do forex withdrawals get delayed or blocked? How to tell legitimate delays from fraud signals, and what to do step by step.

Risk warning. Leveraged forex trading carries high risk and in Türkiye may only be offered by SPK-authorised intermediaries; leverage is capped at 1:10 (half of that may apply if the initial margin at account opening is below TRY 50,000). This content is not investment advice; user statements belong to their authors.

The largest share of forex complaints concerns withdrawals. But not every delay is fraud; it is important to separate legitimate reasons from fraud signals.

Legitimate delay or fraud?

Legitimate delays usually stem from identity verification (KYC) gaps, the payment method’s processing time, or weekend/holiday calendars, and resolve within a few business days. In contrast, a demand to “pay a tax/commission first to release your money”, constantly postponed payments, closed accounts, and the absence of an SPK license are strong fraud signals.

First establish the platform’s status

What you should do next depends on whether the platform is authorized. If the firm is on the SPK authorized list, there is an authority to apply to and a supervised process. If it is not, check whether the domain has been blocked in the SPK bulletins; with unauthorized platforms the priority is gathering evidence and filing a criminal complaint rather than recovery.

What should you do?

Stop depositing and keep all correspondence/receipts. If you paid by card, file a chargeback before the window closes. If the platform is not SPK-authorized, report to the SPK and consider filing a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor.
