The largest share of forex complaints concerns withdrawals. But not every delay is fraud; it is important to separate legitimate reasons from fraud signals.
Legitimate delay or fraud?
Legitimate delays usually stem from identity verification (KYC) gaps, the payment method’s processing time, or weekend/holiday calendars, and resolve within a few business days. In contrast, a demand to “pay a tax/commission first to release your money”, constantly postponed payments, closed accounts, and the absence of an SPK license are strong fraud signals.
What should you do?
Stop depositing and keep all correspondence/receipts. If you paid by card, file a chargeback before the window closes. If the platform is not SPK-authorized, report to the SPK and consider filing a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor. The detailed steps are in our forex scams guide.
