Pip Calculator: Pip Value Tool

A pip is an absolute step, not a percentage. "I made 10 pips" does not say how much you made — the amount depends on trade size.

Pip Value Calculator

The value of a one-pip move, in the quote currency, for your trade size (units).

Result: 10

Risk warning. Leveraged forex trading carries high risk and, in Türkiye, is subject to SPK regulation (1:10 leverage cap, ~50,000 TRY margin). This content is not investment advice; user statements belong to their authors.

Pip size varies by pair

On most pairs a pip is the fourth decimal (0.0001). On JPY pairs it is the second (0.01). If your platform shows one more digit, that is a "pipette", one tenth of a pip — worth not confusing when calculating.

Entering the correct value in the pip size field directly determines the result.

Why this is the first step in risk management

You set stop-loss distance in pips, but your risk is in money. Pip value is what converts between them; that is why the lot calculator also takes pip value as an input.

The same 10-pip move is small at 0.1 lots and ten times larger at 1 lot. Detail is on our pip and lot pages.

Pips are a cost unit too

The spread is measured in pips: a 1.2-pip spread means you start that far behind the moment you open. When assessing total cost, weigh the spread with commission and, if you hold overnight, swap.
